Homes put on sale after 21 May 2010 no longer need a HIP. However, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are still required.

EPCs contain information on your home's energy use and carbon dioxide emissions. They cost around £75, take up to 48 hours to arrange, and are valid for 10 years.
